Rostov State University of Economics

         Rostov State University of Economics is the biggest (23000 students) and the most known (founded in 1931) specialized economic university of the South of Russia. Rostov-on-Don is one of the main transport centers of Russia. Four Transport Corridors pass through it: Pun-European Transport Corridors 7 and 9, North-South Transport Corridor, Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia. Rostov-on-Don has a universal cargo port (with access through the rivers to the Mediterranean, Nord and Caspian Sea by vessels of type «river-sea»), a huge cargo railway station (connections to all regions of Russia, Ukraine and the countries of Caucasus.  RSUE is the main training and scientific center of the South of Russia in the field of logistics and transport. In 1979 at university the Department (Chair) of Economy of Material Provision, since 2001 the Department (Chair) of Commerce and Logistics. In 2010 the Department of Commerce and Logistics became the winner of the II Russian Competition "The Best Economic Department of the Russian Federation" in the nomination "Commerce and Logistics". The Department conducts training of students in two programs in the field of logistics: 1) BSc in Logistics in Trade (136 Students). 2) MSc in Logistics in Trade (14 Students). The Department has close relations with business and authorities concerning training of the qualified specialists in Logistics and Transport. The Department became the initiator of creation and one of founders of the Southern Russian Association of Logistics (URAL) which unites the educational and research organizations, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rostov Region and business units. Since 2003 the Department together with URAL has carried out an annual international scientific and practical symposium "The southern Russian logistic forum" (10 symposiums had carried out) with participation scientists, representatives of authorities, large, medium and small business enterprises. read more...
